More often than not, when I tell people that I ride a moped they laugh...and then they ask what kind of MPGs I get. Its fun to see their reaction.
I love riding my moped. It only goes about 32 miles per hour on a calm day with no traffic, and a bit slower depending on how much wind is blowing and if I'm on a hill or not. Riding a two-wheeled vehicle has introduced me to a whole different way of living.
Now, don't misunderstand me. I'm sure if I took my little baby up to Sturgis I would get laughed at, and any fairly serious rider would scoff at my little black bike with nascar stickers, but none the less, I have become part of the two-wheeled society. When I drive around town other motorcycle riders wave and look, appreciating the love that we both share for riding with the wind in our faces.
Today, as I have many days, I rode my moped around town in heels and a sun dress. I'm a size 16 ginger with imperfect skin, but riding in heels makes me feel like a goddess. Someone stopped me at a light today and told me I was "the cutest thing" they'd ever seen and then they wanted to take my picture. Slightly creepy and maybe a little odd, but a serious confidence boost none the less.
When I turn tight corners and get the moped to lean to the left or right, I feel like a racer on a closed track, even though I'm only going about 20 miles per hour. I sit up straighter, smile more often, and enjoy running errands more since Sam gave me my bike.
Thatta girl! :) Love it!
